I went for interview of Program Officer [Engg] -AKRSP [Aga Khan Rural Support Program]

It was my 2nd semester [Post diploma in Computer Application] final lab exam.. my turn was over and my friend Ashok too was free so both of us were reading "times of India" job pages [it comes on thursday] ... my eyes got bigger to read a nice advt. required Program Officer [Engg] civil engineering qualification and 3 years experience. The main attraction was good salary 4500 INR/month !!!

Ashok and i discussed and we were delighted to apply though we have 6 months less then 3 years of experience.

We both applied and we both got call for written exam at AKRSP [Aga Khan Rural Support Program] office in Ahmedabad.. we were shocked to see the over whelming response to advt. there were 21 candidates for written exam.. my GOD!!!!!! I can believe how come AKRSP called 21 candidates for W. exam? anyways.. hardly we could fit in their conference hall, some chairs ourside the hall, in office .. on some one's desk... all filled up!!

After written they asked us to wait for results [same day!!] so we had 2 hrs break.. Ashok and I went for a small walk [in noon!!!] and found a nice tea stall .. we had nice tea + sandwitch / Puff :) we came back ...

The results were out.. 3 candidates were asked to stay back for oral interview.. surprizingly out of 21.. me and ashok were among last 3 !!!!

here we go... we both called for oral interview one by one... i was confident and could perform well.. excpet one question i could not answer!! the gentlemen in my interview were Mr. M H Vakharia [Retd Chief Engineer] and Mr. Apoorva Oza [Senior Program Executive AKRSP]...

Ashok too had good interview... we both were dreaming to have PO's job.. i was happy as 66% was in pur favor.. either i get the job or Ashok!!

one of the cause of worry was a guy who had done MTec in Water resources and more qualifed then Ashok and me.....

ashok was telling .. hey that guy is experienced and more qualified then us..,, so no chance..

well...

we had to travel back rajkot... we were talking alot in bus.. we reached around 11:30 in the night.

we forget the interview as submission of term work and all was going on for PDCA...

after 15 days or so.. when i came back home... my parents were happy to show me my job offer!!

I was selected to the PO's post.. wow!!!!!!!! I was excited... i went to ashok's place... i informed him.. he too was happy.. unfortunately he was not selected...

so here i go i have to resume my jobs from 25th august 1993.. :) this was already 18th august.... my mom wanted to go to Ambaji [a pilgrimage place] with me and my sis.. and my sister's birthday was on 25th august.. soo..

I have a contact person Mr. Rajesh Kapoor and his tel no. on my job offer..

I called him and took his permission to resume a day later.. on 26th august. .. he seemed nice.. immediately he said no prob. manish..

I was very happy.....
